Our Mission

We Are Sheppard Middle and Painter at Sheppard

We combine two supportive communities into one campus. Painter at Sheppard provides a foundational early education with an engaging Vietnamese Dual Language Immersion program and standard program - both aimed at multilingual engagement and cross-cultural connections. Sheppard Middle brings in Project Based Learning & advanced technology to prepare and inspire its students to become active and engaged learners in pursuit of academic success, global citizenship, higher education, & careers of their choosing.

Vietnamese Dual Language Immersion

Painter TK - 5

Painter is the site of Alum Rock's premier Vietnamese Dual Language Immersion Program where students are immersed in gaining fluency in English and Vietnamese starting in TK.

Painter and Sheppard both benefit from sports programs during lunchtime and afterschool, Visual and Performing Arts with music, art, and others, and student clubs including Lion Dance, Makers Club, and MESA.

Our parent engagement includes regular assemblies and showcases for families, parent education nights, parent-child dances, and volunteer opportunities in and out of the classroom.

Community Engagement

Among our performances are student performances at Santa Clara County Events including the Vietnamese American Community Center events, San Jose Tet Festival, regular band concerts throughout the county, and regular on-campus events.
